Code of Conduct

DC151 is a not for profit, loosely organised collective of individuals - however it is important for all attendees that our code of conduct is adhered to.

We would hope that most of our CoC is obvious and can broadly be categorised as:

"Don't be a dick"

....however, for clarification:
  1. Respect Others: Treat all attendees with respect, regardless of their background, identity, or beliefs. Be inclusive and open to different perspectives.
  2. Act Ethically: Engage in responsible and ethical behavior. Respect laws, regulations, and the rights of others.
  3. Promote Learning: Encourage knowledge sharing and learning among members. Share your expertise and support others in their learning journey.
  4. Communicate Effectively: Use respectful language in all communications, whether in-person or online.
  5. Respect Privacy: Obtain explicit consent before sharing or distributing personal information. Respect individual privacy.
  6. Be Responsible for Your Actions: Take responsibility for your own actions and their consequences.

Note that our attendees are expected to adhere to Chatham House Rule in order to promote open discussion.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  1. Harassment: Harassment, including but not limited to verbal, written, or physical abuse, intimidation, stalking, or unwelcome attention.
  2. Discrimination: Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, financial status, or nationality.
  3. Bullying: Any form of bullying, including online harassment or in-person bullying.
  4. Inappropriate Content: Sharing or displaying sexually explicit, offensive, or inappropriate material.
  5. Disruptive Behavior: Intentional disruption of events or activities.
  6. Photography of Individuals: Photography of attendees that may result in identification without explicit consent is strictly forbidden.

We operate a zero tolerance approach to code of conduct violations. Expulsion from the group will result in removal/banning from all future events and any online activities (such as the DC151 discord).
